Inform line manager as soon as received notice of approval to adopt.

Enter the latest date you can submit your leave and pay form this must be submitted at least 28 days before the start of adoption leave.

Enter the earliest date you may start adoption leave – 14 days before the expected date of placement.

Enter the actual date of placement.
Send in confirmation of the placement as soon as possible (notification of adoption form)

Enter the date 3 months before your return date. This will be the latest you can submit a career break application form.

Enter the date 39 weeks after you commenced adoption leave. This will be when your paid adoption leave will finish.

Enter the date 52 weeks after the start of your leave. Unless you inform the University in writing about a different return to work date, for which you must give 8 weeks notice (see guidance for more details on when this is counted from), it is assumed you will be returning to work after 52 weeks of adoption leave
