- Equality Challenge Unit established in 2001 to promote equality for staff employed in the higher education sector. Its role was expanded in 2006 to cover equality and diversity issues for students as well as staff.
- Commission for Equality and Human Rights brings together the Equal Opportunities Commission, Commission for Racial Equality and the Disability Rights Commission into one body which aims to promote equality within society and eliminate discrimination.
- Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service has a variety of downloadable booklets related to recruitment and induction.
- Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (formally the DTi ) has a useful section on matters relating to various aspects of employment.

Disability
- Access to work provides practical advice and support to disabled people and their employers to help overcome work related obstacles resulting from disability. As well as giving advice and info rmation to disabled people and employers, AtW pays a grant, through the Jobcentre Plus, towards any extra employment costs which result from disability.
- Employers Forum on Disability
- Techdis looks at aspects of technology and disability across the futher and higher education sectors.
- Disability ASSIST Services (DAS) - A guidance and audit tool to support inclusive teaching, learning and assessment environments for students with disabilities. ‘SENDA compliance in Higher Education; and audit and guidance tool for accessible practice within the framework of teaching and learning’.
- RADAR the disability network is a national network of disability organisations and disabled people.
