Graduate Trainee Internship Scheme 2012/2013
The University is supporting a third internship programme for the academic year 2012/13. Sixteen graduate-level internships are offered across the Faculties and Directorates in various areas of their business. A full list of the fields in which we offer internships is listed below.
Running from 1 September 2012 to 30 August 2013, Brookes Graduate Trainee Internships are designed to prepare students for the transition from study to the world of work in an area relevant to their interests and future career aspirations. In an increasingly competitive jobs market, the positions will provide successful applicants with an opportunity to:
- Learn more about a specific field of work and career opportunities
- Acquire practical experience of work in the higher education sector
- Enhance their CV
- Understand more about their own strengths and career interests
- Develop and apply a range of skills, make an impact and take on real responsibilities.
The internships will of course also provide an opportunity for you to understand more about how the University works and how it is structured and managed.
As well as receiving training and gaining work experience in a specific professional field, the Interns take part in a specially designed training and development programme. This consists of a range of workshops which will develop your generic work-based skills, such as communication, problem solving, teamwork and leadership, helping you to understand your career options and building relationships with other interns.
