Improving Student Learning: Improving Student Learning through the Disciplines

The proceedings of the 7th Improving Student Learning symposium.

It has been argued that different disciplines have different pedagogies, but are they really different or simply perceived to be different? If they are different do they have to be due to the nature of the discipline? Or are these differences simply historical and/or cultural? What exactly are these different pedagogies? Are some more successful than others? Could some disciplines benefit from borrowing and adapting methods used in others? It was at least to start a discussion around some of these questions that the theme for the 7th symposium was chosen.

In addition to the three keynote presentations and over 30 research papers these proceedings also include the deliberations of academics from different disciplines who were invited to identify and explore the facets of their pedagogies.
