Improving Student Learning: Improving Student Learning Outcomes
This book starts with a preface which identifies and summarises the international shift in higher education from a focus on teaching to a focus on student learning outcomes. Thirty two papers are included, covering the following eight themes: assessing outcomes, curricula and programme design to improve student learning outcomes, assessing understanding as an outcome, student perception and understanding of outcomes, relating outcomes to professional practice, generic and transferable skills as outcomes, defining standards and academic levels, using evidence of outcomes to evaluate teaching and courses.
