Marion Waite

Marion is from a healthcare background with a 17 year career in the UK NHS as a nurse, midwife and health visitor prior to moving into a career in higher education.

Marion first joined Oxford Brookes University in 2002 as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Health and Social Care.  Marion has developed her teaching practice within e-learning and has led and developed both blended and distance learning programmes. 

The development of postgraduate distance learning programmes has led to a specific role of creating strategic processes to support staff development and enhance the student experience with a focus on digital literacies.

Marion is involved in a number of current research and development projects within both elearning and ehealth. Marion has a special interest in the role of technology in education and the creation of an open approach to share and disseminate good and effective practices in order to inspire confidence within online teaching.

Marion joined OCSLD as an external consultant in 2011 as a member of the online tutoring course team.
