Mary Woolliams
Mary’s background is in healthcare. Having qualified as a staff nurse and health visitor at Manchester University in 1990, she worked as a Staff Nurse, mainly in the UK, from 1990 to 2003. During this time she also worked in Australia from 1993-4, and in India from 1997-8.
Mary first joined Oxford Brookes University in 2003 as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the School of Health and Social Care. She is now involved in teaching on several modules on the Adult Nursing programme, and is also leader of a blended inter-professional module for over 400 second year students within the School.
Mary completed her MSc in Higher Professional Education in 2008. She first taught on OCSLD’s online tutoring course in 2007. Her special interests include facilitating collaboration amongst students in the online setting, and the incorporation of global perspectives into higher professional education.
