Valerie Fawcett
Valerie joined OCSLD in September 2010 as a Staff Development Consultant on a part-time interim basis covering maternity leave.
Valerie’s background is as an independent Learning and Development Consultant providing training and coaching to clients in public, private and voluntary sectors. She has first degrees in English and Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Social Sciences. Her specialisms are in people management and personal development training and coaching including leadership and management, career development, emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills. She has professional training in providing psychometric testing in ability and personality characteristics, and three years professional training in Transactional Analysis, a widely regarded theory of personality and interaction. She also has professional training in the management and prevention of stress.
Valerie is a member of the British Psychological Society, an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development and the Association for Coaching. She is a Committee member for the local CIPD branch. She has had a long-standing interest in women’s development and is a provider of the Springboard Women’s Development Programme. Her first career was in educational publishing.
