The Information Compliance Officer organises sessions for academic and support staff to learn about their responsibilities when dealing with personal information as a result of the Data Protection Act (1998) and how it affects the way they work. There is also the chance to meet and question a representative of the Senior Management Team. At the end of the workshop lunch is provided and delegates are invited to talk to a variety of representatives. |

This training will provide new members of staff with essential information for them to work safely and ensure the University complies with its statutory legal requirements. The course covers fire procedures, accident reporting, first aid, occupational health and the organisation of health and safety at Oxford Brookes.

| Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (PCTHE) | A part-time certificated course designed to develop and enhance teaching skills. The course is nationally recognised and is validated by the Higher Education Academy. A portfolio of teaching evidence is required to satisfactorily complete the course |

Training in employment legislation issues, the University’s recruitment and selection policies and procedures, equal opportunities issues and interview techniques. The course is practical, and appropriate levels of training are given according to the delegates’ previous experience.
