First three years: how do we support new academic staff at Oxford Brookes?

The University places great value on both research and teaching and has created this programme for colleagues new to higher education and/or those who have limited experience in teaching or research.

The programme has three elements:

  1. Training in research and in winning research funding.
  2. Training in research management and supervision.
  3. The Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education

The extensive support, including mentoring, reduced teaching allocations and advice on research project planning is provided during your first three years at Oxford Brookes. Our aim is to support staff to become high quality researchers and teachers with the skills and expertise to bid effectively for external funding.
