No worries - no query too small. Many people - especially mature students - have gaps in their past education, and asking for advice is absolutely OK.
Will you proof read my work?
No, we don't proof read your work, but we will look at it with you and advise you on how to edit it.
I'm getting B+ grades and really want an A. Can Upgrade help?
Yes, definitely, and we often do. A fresh pair of eyes may be able to highlight areas for improvement, and help you see what your subject tutors are looking for. You need to understand feedback and can then follow this up by going to see your module leader with a clearer idea of what you need to know.
I'm a postgraduate student... Is it OK to come?
Of course. There is a lot to take on board in postgraduate study, especially if you come from a working background, or from another country.
Will you talk to my module leader or personal tutor?
Not unless you want us to. Upgrade is confidential. We collect information about users of Upgrade in the form of stats, and generalised patterns and trends (which is why we ask for your details), and feed this back to staff, but you cannot be identified individually.
I am an International Student, can I come to Upgrade?
Yes of course, Upgrade is for any student of the University who wants advice on study issues.
Upgrade does not offer tuition in English as a Foreign Language. If it is your English language that is causing problems you should contact Oxford Brookes International. (See English Language for International Students)
