The Abercrombie extension

Scheduled to open in Spring 2012, a new Abercrombie is just one part of our plans to radically improve the Headington campus.

Abercrombie atriumThe first stage of campus redevelopment at Gipsy Lane will modernise the existing Abercrombie building and house studio workshops and learning spaces, connected by glass walkways spanning an expansive full-height atrium.

This building is particularly focused on the needs of our built environment students, and the open-plan work areas will aim to encourage close working, collaboration and idea sharing between disciplines and year groups.

A gallery will take up the ground floor of the building and provide a prominent position to exhibit University activity and the achievements of our students. The flexible space will suit creativity from sculptures and installations to architecture shows and engineering displays.
