A new library and teaching building
Bringing together library and teaching space with social learning areas, a Students’ Union and essential support services, the new building will transform the lives of our students
The students of today will graduate into a fiercely competitive world of work, where varied skills, adaptability and self-awareness will be vital to their success. To provide the best possible opportunities for personal development, we need our facilities to match the high quality of our teaching and support.
At Oxford Brookes we want to provide first-class spaces to think, teach, learn, study and live. We want our campuses to be places of inspiration, places to work together and experience new challenges. Our new library and teaching building is crucial to creating the student experience of the future and reinforcing the reputation we have already achieved.
The new building brings many of our services together under one roof. In 2013 the library, teaching rooms and learning areas will be close to IT resources and vital support services such as careers and student welfare.
From the very beginning 80% of student support services will be provided in one place, offering advice and information on everyday student issues from academic problems to financial support and accommodation.
Oxford Brookes is not looking to grow in size. In fact to increase the value of our teaching we will be reducing student numbers on campus, improving access to the support, guidance and opportunities necessary to give them the best possible start in their life after graduation.
