- Kids Open Session for 7yrs+. Monday's 4.30-6pm. Costs £5.50 includes entry and supervision. The session is a supervised climbing experiance of bouldering and bottom roped climbing run by our experianced instructor team. Places can be booked in advance on 01865484373

- Rock Hopper Cards: 10 entries £60.00 save £10.00 or 20 entries £110.00 and save £30.00. Ask at reception for details.
- Rock Stars kids club Sunday morning for 7-9yrs (9.30-11am). 10-13yrs (11am-12.30pm) and 14-17yrs (1.30-3pm). The course follows a five level system teaching basic climbing through to lead climbing. The log can be used as evidence for DofE, GCSE and A-Level PE . The course runs over 6 week during the school term and costs £55.00 Next course starts Sunday 26th February 2012. - Casual climbing is available weekdays 7.30am-11pm and weekends 9am-10pm. Adults Peak £7.00 and off peak £5.50. Child (5yrs-17yrs) peak £5.50 and off peak £4.50. Annual memberships available from just £12.99 per month. All Adult climbers must be registered free via reception, under 18yrs must be accompanied and signed in by a registered adult. (off peak = weekdays 7.30-3pm)
- Casual Climbing Registration. All adult climbers must register to use the climbing facility, simply complete a one off form with no charge via reception. Registration allows a registered climber to sign in two guests (guests are treated as novice climbers and therefore the registered climber is fully responsible for the safety and behaviour of the guests and must ensure that guests are fully aware of the facility rules and regulations).
- Private lessons, schools, youth and corporate groups are available Monday-Thursday 12-9pm, Friday 12-5pm and weekends 10am-5pm. Private lessons cost from £20.00 (one child climber). - Route setting. The bouldering rooms and bottom rope wall is reset every two months and lead tower every four months(that means every four months we change every single route!). The route setting is headed up by International routesetters Andy Long, Jason Pickles, Jamie Cassidy. Freddie Naish and Rob Lamy

We offer a comprehensive range of training programmes to suit your level of expertise all delivered by qualified instructors.

Adult Novice climbing course
Within the ideal conditions of the indoors beginners can experience the challenge of climbing for the first time, learning the basic skills on our bouldering wall.
Our monthly novice course runs monday evenings is the most cost effective way to get started. Qualified instructors with all safety equipment provide guidance and tuition through this eight-hour course.
Our novice course will introduce you to rope work, rock climbing techniques, safe fitting and use of equipment.
Lead climbing course
This course, is designed to allow any bottom rope climber to safely progress to the sharp end of the rope. Leading is potentially dangerous so during this course our instructors will ensure you gain best practise techniques for sport leading. Lessons are available on a maximum 2:1 Ratio and are available to book as private lessons.
Refresher lessons
If you’re returning to climbing after a break and would like to be supervised and checked over then you can book an instructor for one or half hourly sessions just to guide you back into the sport, or to go over a specific topic with you.
Lessons
Ideal as a treat or gift small group sessions or 1:1 lessons can allow you to progress much faster toward you goal of safe independence climbing indoors, our lessons will move you at your own pace, in your own direction.
Group bookings
Learning to climb in a group is a great way to encourage team work at the same time as having fun.
School and youth groups
Groups of up to 10 children for a series of lessons can learn to climb & belay as part of their extra-curricular activities, GCSE or A-level physical education, Duke of Edinburgh awards or to work towards cub-scout badges or maybe just for fun or as a reward!
Treat your class or youth group to an amazing experience, our instructors will provide all the equipment knowledge you need. You can arrange one off sessions or a series of progressive lessons.
Schools and youth groups can park one minibus only on site, by advance arrangement.
Adult groups or parties
Our instructors are available for anything from a team building session to children’s birthday parties. From only £75 you can host your office party, birthday or even stag or hen event at Rock Solid as part of an amazing day.
The cost of Instructors, equipment and entry are all included in the price of your lesson or group, so there are no hidden costs.
The evolution of Rock Solid
Rock Solid has come a long way since opening in 1996.
1996 Rock Solid opens as bendcrete bouldering wall and 11 metre leading wall.
1998 Two plywood vertical sections are added to the Tower to create the Arch wall
2001 The Bendcrete bouldering arch is replaced with a Plywood, increasing the number of routes by 400%
2004 The Bendcrete slab, corner and crack are replaced with Plywood.
2007 Phase One Tower refurbishment completed with the demolition of old ‘Triple Buttress’ and ‘Vertical Wall’ replaced with a Walltopia vertical wall and bulging arĂȘte. 40% more route capacity.
2009 Phase Two Tower refurbishment. Demolition of ‘Double buttress’ and ‘Arch Vertical Wall’ replacement with larger vertical wall and a sustained overhanging wall by Walltopia and the complete refurbishment of existing bouldering wall, with a blank canvas re-build to include a 50% enlargement of the facility with a new bouldering room in a converted squash court, 6.5m high insitu top rope area and the addition of a ‘Training Zone’ .
