About us
The Chaplaincy at Oxford Brookes is part of Student Services.
The chaplains are a team of
ministers appointed in partnership by the university and local
churches. We are here to offer friendship and spiritual care
to all members of the university - students and staff,
UK and internationals, people
from Christian traditions and all other shades of faith.
Meet the team
Where are we?
Our main base is the Chaplaincy
room in the Helena Kennedy Student Centre (map)
opposite the HK Deli. We also have a chapel at
Harcourt Hill and there is
a Catholic
Chaplaincy at 62 London Road. We are often found visiting
different parts of the university - in halls and departments,
bars and coffee shops - meeting people wherever they happen
to be.
What do we do?
Basically, we take an interest in you! Whether you're struggling,
celebrating, or just want to spend the time of day, the chaplains
are available to listen and to talk. We can also offer help
and advice, or talk about what faith means to you. As a team
we aim to provide spiritual encouragement and pastoral care,
and a wide range of opportunities for worship, prayer and
meditation, discussion groups, music and film nights, social
events, visits, pilgrimages and much more. Whatever your reason
for calling on us, you will find we are expert in the art
of making tea and coffee and opening packets of biscuits!
