Bibliotherapy
We have a list of recommended self-help books on anxiety, assertiveness, bereavement, depression and other issues. The University library holds all the books on our list. Students can access the list themselves and borrow books. Doctors, academic staff, and non-academic staff can all ‘prescribe’ or recommend, reading to students.
For basic information about the scheme, see our Information Leaflet.
Our Booklist lists the available books for different problems and issues.
You can also access the book list from the Library web-site. Click on "Reading Lists." Change the search category at the top to "Module title." Type "bibliotherapy" in the Search box. Click on "Go." Click on "For more information." Now can open up the Scheme, and then open up each category that you are interested in. You can check whether individual books are currently in the library or reserve them.
For more details about bibliotherapy, and for a description of each book, we have a Recommendation Handbook.
