After Brookes: Leaving Oxford

There are lots of practical things to think about as you prepare to leave Oxford Brookes and Oxford.

International students; preparing to return home a UKCISA information sheet has a useful list to help you remember everything. It includes:

  • planning your return travel
  • sending your luggage home
  • claiming Income Tax refunds from HM Revenue & Customs
  • shopping and VAT refunds if you are leaving the European Union
  • deciding who you need to tell you are leaving; your bank, your mobile network, your electricity suplier, your friends….
  • redirecting your mail using the Post Office Redirection service
  • make sure Oxford Brookes has your new address by using your PIP or telling the Academic Management Office
  • moving out of your private accommodation, and getting your deposit back in the Students’ Union Advice Centre Housing fact sheets
  • storing your belongings from your room and kitchen, when you leave your accommodation.
