After Brookes: Visas

If you are not from the European Economic Area or Switzerland you need a visa to stay in the UK after the end of your course. You may want to be in the UK for:

  • Work including the Post-Study Work ( PSW) and Highly Skilled Worker schemes.
  • More study and extending your student visa in the UK or in your own country
  • Travelling in other European countries
  • Your graduation ceremony; You can request a university invitation letter for you and your family to use if you apply for visitor visas.
  • Personal reasons including settlement, marriage or civil partnership.

If you are an EEA or Swiss student, there are no restrictions on how long or why you stay in the UK after your course.
