Post-Study Work
You may be able to apply for a Post-Study Work(PSW) visa that allows you to work for two years after completing your degree level studies. PSW replaces the International Graduates Scheme (IGS). Before you apply, read and follow the Home Office Policy Guidance very carefully. If you do not the Home Office are likely to refuse your application without giving you a chance to correct any mistakes on the form or send in any further documents.
For advice on any part of the application that is not covered by the links below please contact an immigration solicitor (e.g. Turpin & Miller).

Can I apply before my results have been confirmed?
No. Students obtain their qualification from Oxford Brookes University after it has been officially ratified by the appropriate Examination Board. Tutors or administrators should not write letters to be used in Post-Study Work (PSW) applications saying that a student has successfully passed their qualification, before it has been officially confirmed. The Home Office could refuse a student's application because they have not yet having "obtained" the qualification. The student would then waste their application fee. The Home Office would not refund this fee of £400 ( or £600 in person).
To see how to get letters from Brookes confirming student results see the ISAS guide to Section 3 of the Post-Study Work application form.
What help can ISAS provide?
The international student advisers can provide general advice about students’ eligibility for PSW and assist in providing evidence in relation to their study at Brookes. The links above give guidance on applying for the scheme.
Before applying students will need to have received their official results, and have proof that they will be awarded their degree. All students will need to provide an original letter from Brookes confirming this, see the ISAS guide to Section 3.
Undergraduate and postgraduate taught students, can ask for this letter from the Academic Management Office. Postgraduate research students, can ask in the Graduate Office.
Please note that ISAS is unable to check PSW application forms or documents.
