Public transport links to Oxford and Headington are reliable and frequent. In addition, a dedicated express bus service - to transfer graduates and guests from the Water Eaton Park and Ride directly to the Oxford Brookes' Gipsy Lane campus - has been organised, running from Wednesday through to Friday. For full details on this service please refer to the 'Arriving by car' section below. See the timetable here
We do strongly advise against bringing a car to the University as there are no parking facilities available for either graduates or guests on campus. The only exception is those who have advised us of their Blue Badge Number when registering to attend a ceremony.
On street car parking is also extremely restricted in the Headington area unless you are a local resident and hold a resident parking permit.
Reading, Bristol and Birmingham. Travel time from the Train Station to the University is up to 30 minutes.
From the Train Station catch the number U1 bus from Stop R8 or the number 400 Park and Ride bus from Stop R7, both are in Frideswide Square opposite the Said Business School entrance, a one minute walk from the station. Buses stop outside the University. You can also catch the Arriva number 280 bus from directly outside the train station.
For bus times visit:
the city centre and the University. Buses depart from Park and Ride sites every 10-15 minutes. The car parking facilities at each of the sites are equipped with CCTV and on-site security personnel (http://parkandride.oxfordbus.co.uk/).
There are severe traffic and parking restrictions in Oxford so we have put on a dedicated express bus service that has been set up to transfer graduates and guests from the Water Eaton Park and Ride directly to the Oxford Brookes' Gipsy Lane campus, for the days of Wednesday 4 to Friday 6 September. This is the recommended transport method for graduates and guests travelling to Oxford by car.
For the details on fares and timetable please click here. The closest Park and Ride site to the campus, Thornhill, is extremely busy during the week, but is the recommended service for Saturday 7 September 2013. All Park and Ride buses are low floor easy access vehicles with spaces for wheelchairs. The bus runs every 30 minutes – the quick and stress free way to travel to your graduation ceremony.
Please Note: Oxford roads and Oxford Park and Ride sites can get very busy. We recommend that you use another form of transport to avoid bringing a car to Oxford. However, if you have no other option we suggest that you allocate extra time just in case the car park that you expected to use is full.
Buses leave the city centre for Brookes regularly. For bus times visit www.brookesbus.org
