Critical review

  • You may be asked to write a 'critical review' of any text - an article, a book, a chapter in a book.

For a comparison of two articles, consider using:

    • the headings of the abstracts if the abstracts of the articles you are comparing have headings (more likely in science subjects)
    • the headings in writing a critical review (above)

Whatever structure you use, make notes on both articles before you start writing. This will help you to avoid 'telling the story' of each article and you will find you become more 'critical'.
