Chaplains and faith advisers

  • Members of the Chaplaincy team are trained in pastoral care. We are not counsellors. We are Christian ministers and faith advisers who are glad to walk alongside you in your journey through life. Whether you are struggling, celebrating, or just want to pass the time of day, our aim is to listen more than to talk.

For students, we offer a safe place to talk things through. The Chaplaincy is outside the academic structures. We will always lend an ear, or talk about what faith means to you. We can also advise you about other people who may be of help.

We are also available to Brookes staff, and are willing to offer informal support in a confidential setting which is independent of managerial structures. Again, where appropriate, we can advise about other channels of support.

Oxford Brookes University Chaplaincy is seeking to work with all the faith groups represented in our community, to better serve the University. The Chaplaincy seeks to be a safe space for all members of the University, of all faiths and none.

If you represent a faith group and would like to discuss how you could work with us in the Chaplaincy, please email the Chaplaincy or phone 01865 484690.

If you are a member of the University community and would like to discuss your faith needs with a chaplain, please email the Chaplaincy or phone extension 4690.
