How we process your application
UCAS will send your application form to our Admissions Office, who will forward it to those responsible for the course you have applied for. You may be invited for an interview, be given an offer and at a later date invited to visit, or be told that we cannot offer you a place.
You will be informed of our decision through UCAS or you can check online using UCAS Track. Decisions include:
- unconditional - where your examination results are known and you are already at the necessary standard; or
- conditional - in which case we specify the result you are required to achieve in the examinations that you are taking or required to take
- unsuccessful - the University has been unable to make you an offer for the course.
Once you have received decisions back on all your applications, UCAS will send you a deadline for making your Firm or Insurance choices. More information on making your choices is on the UCAS website.
After you have received an offer from Oxford Brookes you will be invited to a visit day. Visit days take place between February and April and give applicants and their parents an opportunity to meet staff from their course. If places on our Visit Days are unavailable there are many other ways of visiting us, why not come to an Open Day or book a campus tour
Exam results
By August, UCAS provides examination results for A-levels, AS-levels, Vocational A- and AS-levels and some BTEC results. If your offer is conditional upon obtaining certain grades in examinations not listed above, you should send a copy of your results in writing direct to the Admissions Office.
If you have met the conditions of our offer, UCAS or the Admissions Office will confirm the fact. If your results do not quite meet the conditions of the offer, it does not automatically mean that you will not be accepted, since your application is then given further consideration.
If you are not successful, remember that it is still possible to apply for courses through Clearing by visiting the UCAS website.
