Richard Phillips, studying Architecture

I did my degree at Brookes and had a fantastic time. I came back to do this course for a few reasons. I knew that Brookes was open to new ideas and I specifically wanted to look at the business side of architecture, which most people don't tend to focus on. You’re not pigeon-holed into anything in particular, it's very open, so you are given more opportunities than in most courses to work on something you really want to do - and I love Oxford as a city.

The research project has been the best part of the course

For me the research project has been the best part of the course. It has allowed me to find a gap in architecture and really drive forward
with it.

I’ve been able to meet lots of new people, and even set up a business with a chartered surveyor I met at Brookes, which is my next step after finishing university.
