Hardship funding
Access to Learning Fund, and student hardship
The Financial Aid Office offers hardship funding to enrolled students encountering severe financial difficulties.
The government provides the Access to Learning Fund for distribution to home students studying at undergraduate or postgraduate level and experiencing genuine financial hardship.
The University has also made available a limited amount of hardship funding, in a concessionary fund, to assist those students not eligible to apply for the Access to Learning Fund.
The support we can offer takes the form of a grant, or a limited emergency loan. Assistance can be provided towards accommodation, childcare and general financial hardship as proven, but is not available as bursaries at the outset of a course.
