Financial help for undergraduate international students (from outside the EU)

If you are an international student you can benefit from a range of financial support to help with the cost of studying in the UK.

Oxford Brookes International Awards

We are offering awards of £2000 to international students who are starting an undergraduate degree in September 2012.

Can I apply?

You can apply if you are:

  • entering your first year of undergraduate study in September 2012
  • holding an unconditional or conditional offer with Oxford Brookes University
  • required to pay international tuition fees.

How do I apply?

Please register for the award no later than 30 June 2012.

General Information

  • Awards will be distributed at the end of August 2012 once applicants have met the conditions of their university offer. We will contact you to let you know if you have been successful.
  • Only students applying for their first year of an undergraduate degree are eligible for the award.
  • Awards do not include a maintenance grant and the award will automatically be deducted from tuition fee costs.

Family discount

If two or more members of immediate family are studying and paying fees at Oxford Brookes at the same time, we will deduct 10% from your tuition fees for each family member.

This discount is open to all family members (siblings and spouses) who are categorised as 'overseas' for fees purposes. For more information please contact the Student Finance team.

Visa discount

If you are a self-financing student, the university will pay up to £357 towards the cost of visa renewal for international students who wish to progress to an Oxford Brookes undergraduate course starting in September 2011 after completing any of the following courses:

To claim this discount, students should apply to the Student Finance Office, either in person at the counter or in writing, after having renewed and paid for their visa. They must provide a copy of their passport, showing the visa renewal sticker or stamp, which must be dated after they have finished their course. Unless a request is made to the Student Finance Office no discount will be awarded. The discount will be debited against the tuition fees for their first semester.

Foundation course scholarships

Up to four scholarships are available to students holding an unconditional offer for the International Foundation Diploma (IFD) or Foundation Diploma in Liberal Arts (FDLA) programmes.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a competitive essay, and successful students can receive up to 50% of the tuition fees. For details of how to apply, please visit our foundation pathway scholarships page.

Other scholarships

Other sources of funding are available from time to time. For more information, please contact your local British Council office or visit the websites of the UK Council for International Student Affairs or Education UK.
