Personal support services

We want your time at Brookes to be as enjoyable and successful as possible.

Being at university is a whole new life experience and we want you to make the most of it. That's why we provide all the facilities you need to be relaxed, happy and healthy throughout your studies.

Medical and dental services

We offer medical services including a dental practice and osteopathy clinics.

The university Medical Centre is based on Headington Campus. In addition to the range of services you’d expect, the centre offers health advice for students travelling overseas and on field trips. It also runs initiatives dealing with issues such as eating disorders and cancer awareness. You can make an appointment or you can attend a nurse drop-in clinic between 10.30am and 2.30pm Monday to Friday. Students based at Wheatley and Harcourt Hill Campuses register with one of the local practices that link to those campuses.

We also have our very own dental practice, Studental, on Headington Campus, providing a full range of high-quality NHS dental services for all students and staff.

Need to visit an osteopath? Oxford Brookes has the first osteopathic teaching clinics in the country accredited and based within a university. The clinics – one in Oxford, and the other at our Ferndale site in Swindon – provide a full range of osteopathic treatments and also provide comprehensive treatment options for sports injuries and follow up care, with concessionary rates for Brookes students, staff and alumni.

Religion

Oxford is home to a great diversity of faith communities, many of which offer a particular welcome to students.

In addition, the chaplaincy at Oxford Brookes provides pastoral care and a range of prayer and worship facilities within the university. There is an ecumenical chaplaincy room on Headington Campus and a chapel on Harcourt Hill Campus. There is also a Roman Catholic chaplaincy in Headington. Muslim students have access to prayer rooms on all three campuses. Mosques and a synagogue can also be found in the city.

Students from all faith backgrounds (or none at all) are welcome to call in to the chaplaincy room, where there is a daily programme of worship and study as well as information, advice and support.

Details of activities and inter-faith events are regularly updated on our worship pages.
