Maria is qualified Swedish architect. She received her Bachelor degree in Architecture at Lund School of Architecture, LTH, Sweden 2009 after which she worked at Peter Cook’s London based practice Crab Studio. In 2012 Maria completed her Master’s degree (RIBA part ll) in Architecture with distinction from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.
Maria is currently working as an associate for Populous where she is working on a range of large scale projects worldwide, most recently she has been working on the new stadium for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Maria has a keen interest in digital fabrication and has participated in, and won, a number design and ideas competitions on the subject. This includes the Additive Earth Systems competition in conjunction with Blueprint Magazine, Bartlett School of Architecture’s and Design junction.
Maria is also interested in biomimicry, biophilia and integrating sustainable solutions into the built environment. Biomimetic looks at the natural world not just through form but also function to develop sustainable systems that go beyond the conventional ideas of sustainability by creating holistic systems which integrate design, material use and material efficiency and structural solutions.
