Co-Wheels is a national car hire scheme, with vehicles located throughout UK cities, including Oxford and cars can be booked online or over the phone.
To become a member, Co-Wheels require an online application. As long as you have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 12 months you are eligible to join, however, please be aware that some further restrictions may also apply. Details can be found on their joining pages.
Membership is a one off fee of £25 and then you pay a minimum monthly fee of £5 depending on how often/ far you use the hire vehicle. Information, including car hire rates is available on their pricing page.

Electric car club pilot - Oxfordshire
An Oxfordshire wide car sharing pilot scheme launched in April 2023 making 14 new electric vehicles (EV) available for people to hire on an hourly or daily basis.
The scheme gives people the chance to access an EV when they need one, without the expense of owning or leasing one outright. Car clubs can make it much more affordable for people who don’t drive every day and provide real-world experience of driving electric without a long-term commitment.

Can I use a foreign driving licence?
Yes. If you have a non-UK licence, you can join Co-Wheels. However please be aware that the process for checking your licence is a little different to the standard procedure.
