Log in to Moodle

Digital Education Support

  • Service Status: get updates on the current status of our virtual learning environments including downtimes and outages.
  • Get TEL Support: Digital Education at Brookes is our support website with documentation and online training resources on Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) for all staff.
  • ServiceNow: get help from the IT Service Desk including IT Services request, the IT Services Knowledgebase, and further assistance.
  • Sign up for a training or induction session with Digital Services including Moodle, Panopto and Zoom inductions and training in technology enhanced learning tools and digital accessibility.

Virtual Learning Environment

  • Getting started with Moodle:
  • Moodle Updates: our most recent update was on 13 January 2022 when we upgraded to Moodle 3.11.
  • Google Apps: IT Services offers support and training for Google calendar, email and drive.
    • Google Calendar is your main Brookes calendar space, organise your appointments, teaching, and other events.
    • Google Mail is your university email inbox.
    • Google Drive is your secure cloud storage, organise files, folders, and documents..
  • Student Record System: the Banner SRS contains student information, course information, and module data.

Key digital tools

  • Session recording with Panoptoand using the Video Library:
    • Use the Desktop Recorder: record live lectures and pre-record presentations.
    • Upload a video to the Panopto Video Library: create videos using your smart device, Camtasia, Screencastify, or other video recording/editing platform..
  • Online meetings, sessions, and web conferencing:
  • Collaborate with Padlet:
    • Padlet: encourages engagement and participation during face-to-face, online, and blended teaching and training sessions using digital bulletin boards.
    • Request a Padlet license to get started.

Learning resources

  • Reading Lists: search for your module's reading list by module code or module leader. Don't forget to log in to edit your module's reading list.
  • Library:
  • LibKey Nomad: a browser extension that gives you fast, one-click access to articles online.
  • LibKey IO: search for articles by DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or PMID (PubMed Identifier).
