Priceless artifacts provided the backdrop when Oxford Brookes jointly hosted an historic event with the Ashmolean Museum.
On 14 March 2014 the University announced its 150th anniversary celebrations, at a LiveFriday event which saw performances, workshops and exhibitions from students, staff and alumni.
Over 5,600 people enjoyed the event. Queues for the fun and awe-inspiring showcases reflected the tremendous popularity of the night. Among many exhibitions, visitors were able to:
- Turn their smartphone into a microscope
- See racing cars built by students
- Check out a bamboo mountain bike
- Talk to humanoid robots!
- Listen to unsigned singing stars of the future
- Use pioneering eye tracking technology to understand how we look at paintings
The Ashmolean sits alongside the Taylorian Institute where Brookes began life as the Oxford School of Art in 1865. Take a look at conversations and images from the night at: #Brookes2015 and #LiveFriday or visit our 2015 Social Wall.
