    Who is it for?

    The first session is important for line managers and the second is of interest to both managers and non-managers.

    Course content:

    Managing work place stress, the first half of the course, will provide information on the responsibilities of managers in preventing and managing stress in their teams. The second half of the course, Resilience, will provide strategies for individuals to prevent and manage stressful feelings by increasing resilience.

    Increased recognition of organisational need to deal with employees problems appropriately
    Define what we mean by 'resilience'
    Recognise symptoms of stress Identify the feelings, thoughts and behaviours which go with resilience 
    Improved ability to recognise troubled employees
    Describe how personality factors affect resilience 
    Recognise management competencies for preventing and reducing stress at work
    Identify individual perceptions and how to challenge them 
    Understand building blocks for well-being
    Describe strategies for managing emotions and mood 
    Know how and when to make appropriate referralsPractise relaxation techniques

    If you are unable to attend a course we require 5 working days' notice of non-attendance, otherwise a cancellation charge of £50 will be made for each day of a course (or part thereof).
