National Student Survey 2024

The National Student Survey 2024 is open!

This is your opportunity to give honest, anonymous feedback on your course and your time at Oxford Brookes.

If you're an eligible student, fill in the survey today. The University will donate £3 to local charities for each submissions, meaning you can help shape the future of Brookes and support some great causes.

What is the NSS?

The NSS is a nationally recognised annual survey of mostly final-year undergraduates in the UK. The survey gives students the chance to offer their honest opinions on what they liked about their course, as well as things that could have been improved.

The survey is run by Ipsos, an independent market research agency, on behalf of the Office for Students, and responses remain anonymous at all times. Taking part is voluntary.

What happens next?

The NSS results are made publicly available to help future students, their families and advisors to make informed decisions about where and what to study.

Your anonymous feedback highlights areas where the University is doing well and where we could be doing better. This information is used to make improvements to the student experience at Oxford Brookes.

Our charity donation

For every Brookes student who completes the NSS, the University will make a £3 donation split equally among three good causes: Just Like Us, Little Fireface Project and FoodCycle Swindon.

Your feedback makes a difference

Oxford Brookes has been taking part in the NSS since it launched in 2005. We listen carefully to our students' feedback, and together we have made a number of changes including:

  • improving access to, as well as the range of, e-books and journals in our libraries
  • returning to an all-year timetable to help students plan caring and work responsibilities
  • regularly reviewing our curricula from an equality, diversity and inclusion perspective
  • enhancing important webpages on fees and funding and student support services
  • developing connections with local employers to offer more work opportunities within the curriculum.
