Challenges of identifying and treating frailty and multimorbidity
This event has now finished. Please see our events website for details of upcoming events at Brookes.
Who this event is for
When dealing with a specific disease there are often parameters that can be assessed and quantified to determine the progression of disease and the successes, or not, of treatments. However, when dealing with ageing, the progression of the ageing process and if disease treatments are benefiting an individual are harder to evaluate. I will describe the concepts of frailty and multimorbidity (suffering from multiple conditions), the impacts on an individual, and the attempts being made to assess them and use them to establish treatments that will reduce the impacts of ageing.
