Whether you’re a competitive athlete or you just enjoy training to keep fit, Anita Bean explains how nutrition can help maximise your performance and give you the winning edge. In this talk, Anita discusses how to achieve your racing weight, what are the best fuels for training, whether low carbohydrate diets benefit or hinder performance, what to eat before, during and after training, how to speed recovery and which supplements may be worth taking.
About the presenter:
Anita Bean is an award-winning registered nutritionist, health writer, internationally published author and former athlete. She specialises in sport and exercise nutrition and is passionate about helping athletes improve their performance in training and competition. She has written more than 20 books, including The Complete Guide to Sports Nutrition, The Runner’s Cookbook and The Vegetarian Athlete’s Cookbook. Anita is currently the nutritionist for the London Marathon, RideLondon and Good Housekeeping magazine, and a regular contributor to many national magazines.
