Oxford Brookes staff and PhD students showcase their research on LGBTQ+ topics at this LGBTQ+ History Month event. All Brookes staff and students are welcome to attend.
Featuring:
Alon Lischinsky - The desirable trans body: naming and describing nonconforming queer bodies in written porn. Using a 10-million-word corpus of erotic stories to explore distinctive ways in which gender non-conformity can be construed and appraised.
Alex Powell - Sexually Diverse Refugees: Gay Enough for the Government? Using a queer theory lens to explore the conceptions of sexual diversity adopted by the Home Office in the context of asylum claims on the basis of 'sexuality'.
Aaron Worsley - Reviewing the literature about the effects of prostate cancer treatment on gay and bisexual men.
Yue Ang - Queering Company Law & Corporate Governance. Disrupting the understanding of company law and deconstructing the conventional views of corporate governance to offer a critical approach to both disciplines.
