Details
Professor Helen Walkington will make the case for students
to share their research findings in a variety of formats.
She will also provide evidence for the way in which expert
mentors can support undergraduate researchers.
Undergraduate research can deliver real benefits to society.
From carbon foot-printing onion production to developing
carbon labelling in supermarkets, from understanding
recycling behaviour to developing local authority waste
management policies and from learning how to create
mobile phone apps to developing support
for people suffering from brain trauma, students’ research
can make an impact.
Helen will use her own research findings to support the
case for publishing undergraduate research as widely as
possible. Expect plenty of food for thought as well as some
well-travelled onions.
