After being kicked out of school a month before her A-levels then a short career selling door-to-door perfume, Allegra went on find her calling as a chef. At 24 she was London’s youngest female head chef before running Robert de Niro’s Tribeca Grill in New York.

On her return to the UK, Allegra co-founded the multi-award-winning healthy fast food chain, LEON and last year she bought Albertine, a wine bar and restaurant in Shepherd’s Bush that her mum set up in the 70s.

On paper it all looks so good but in this talk Allegra shares how her brilliant career has at times been anything but...

Allegra is an international chef, writer, broadcaster and consultant with almost thirty years in the industry. She believes that good food should be available to everybody and is a proud patron of the Fairtrade Foundation and The Food Chain, an HIV & AID charity, as well as being an Ambassador for Compassion in World Farming.
