Details

Oxford Brookes University is proud to be hosting the Oxford Pride Symposium - a multi agency performance and debate event. The theme this year is inspired by 2019 being 50 years since the Stonewall Riots and how they began the movement for LGBTQIA+ acceptance and rights.

Artists such as the amazing Ashanti will be giving performances of spoken word and more.

We will hear personal stories from those amongst our vibrant, often unheard, diverse community on disability, discrimination, activism and mental health.

There will be two panels on the night - an intergenerational panel containing students, councillors, teachers, and lecturers from across Oxfordshire's wide range of educational establishments.

To close we will have a Queer Panel debating how we can move forward into a new era, chaired by Zayna Ratty and joined by Valentino Vecchietti, Tom Hayes and Charlotte Stacey amongst other esteemed guests.

Free event but tickets need to be booked in advance.
