Before the 1990s, virtually nothing was known about Asia’s lorises. Lorises can’t leap, and were thus thought slow, solitary and boring. Now after 20 years of research by Nekaris, we know that lorises are amongst the most extreme of all primates being the most insectivorous and exudativorous, highly social and fast, and most unusually the world’s only venomous primates.
