Delegates shall have the opportunity to explore
fundamentally important issues for pregnant women and maternity health care
workers.
Stephen Allen, Professor of Paediatrics and International Health, will speak about ‘frugal innovation’ and facilitate group work.
Alison Byrne shall speak about her work as an FGM specialist midwife and about the issues and complications faced in childbirth
as a result of FGM.
Clara Calvert, PhD student, will present her research about the HIV impact on pregnancy-related mortality in sub-Saharan Africa,
and facilitate group work.
Brigid McConville shall speak about White Ribbon Alliance and its Respectful Maternity Care work and invite discussion.
Helen Mountfield will outline her work with Birthrights and facilitate group work.

Attendance fee for the day, including coffee, lunch and tea is £35 and £25 for students.
