Details

Following his education and training as an artist/craftsman and teacher, John Henry Brookes was appointed Head of the Oxford School of Art in 1928 with two members of staff and 90, mostly part-time, students.

When he retired 28 years later, in 1956, most of the fields of study of a 21st century university had been established.

Bryan will be sharing his insights into the life of John Henry Brookes, celebrating his work and remarkable achievements.
