Debbie Dance, the Director of Oxford Preservation Trust, will
discuss the pressures on Oxford to change.
The poet Matthew Arnold famously described Oxford as
“that sweet City with her dreaming spires”. Today, its two
Universities compete on an international stage, local people
need houses and much of the city is prone to flooding.
So how do you look after Oxford’s green setting and views,
protect the best of the old, encourage the best of the new
and create a place for everyone? Debbie will share her
views on how to bring about positive change to our unique
and wonderful city.
This is the annual Brookes Society Lecture. Further information on Brookes Society can be found here.
