Two hundred years after Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and with the biopolitical situation of the human body shifting, Professor Alex Goody will consider the feminist politics of artificial beings.
She will explore how literature and media have presented women robots – looking at fin de siècle androids, New York Dada poetry, surrealist insects, sci-fi film and TV, and robot and AI technology in the sex industry.
Alex Goody is Professor in the Department of English and Modern Languages at Oxford Brookes.
