JHB Lecture Theatre, John Henry Brookes Building, Headington Campus, Gipsy Lane site

Sponsored by The Royal Town Planning Institute South East Region and David Lock Associates, this annual lecture from the department of planning will be delivered by Hugh Ellis, who is currently the Head of Planning at the Town and Country Planning Association.

Inspired by the book Hugh co-authored in 2014 of the same title, this lecture will discuss how Britain can organise itself, not just for survival but to build a fairer and more sustainable society, as well as the ways that planning, both morally and practically, can help to meet key challenges of the 21st century.

About the speaker:

Hugh Ellis joined the TCPA as Chief Planner in March 2009 where he is responsible for the Association’s work on climate change and planning reform. Prior to this, Hugh had been Planning Adviser to Friends of the Earth and held a teaching and research post at the University of Sheffield.
