June has been a nurse for almost 40 years with a career spanning practice, management and senior leadership in the NHS and in higher education. In this lecture June will be in conversation with Debra Jackson, Professor of Nursing at Oxford Brookes, talking about her career highlights, lessons learned, her leadership experiences and her views on some of the key issues facing the nursing profession today. There will also be opportunities for questions from the audience.

PROFESSOR JUNE GIRVIN - Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences
June Girvin is Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Oxford Brookes. Prior to joining Brookes and moving into higher education leadership in 2001, June had a 25 year career as a nurse, culminating in being Executive Director in an acute hospital trust.
Her background gives her a unique insight into the demands and issues facing the nursing profession today.
