This research seminar explores how creative approaches to assessment can actively engage learners and improve learning, whilst simultaneously providing a basis for formative assessment. It weaves together a number of themes, including constructivist approaches to learning, dialogic teaching and facilitating teacher change.

For many years Stuart Naylor has worked with Brenda Keogh to create formative assessment resources, such as Concept Cartoons and Active Assessment publications.

The seminar aims to illustrate the pedagogic strategy that underpins these resources.
