Details

Comedian, writer and director Stewart Lee returns to Oxford Brookes to talk with the Head of the Department of English and Modern Languages at the University, Professor Simon Kövesi. Together they will discuss Stewart's life in comedy, performance, writing, TV, radio, theatre and music reviewing.

Attendees will be asked to supply Simon with questions for Stewart before the event and a selection will be put to him in a free-ranging conversation about the artists' career and thoughts on comedy, culture and art.

About the speaker

STEWART LEE - Comedian, Writer and Director

Stewart has had an incredibly varied and successful career including award-winning TV and radio shows and directing and co-writing Jerry Springer The Opera.

His TV show Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle has received a number of accolades including a British Comedy Award for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme and Best Male Television Comic and in 2012 won a BAFTA Television Award for Best Comedy Programme. The programme returned for its fourth season in 2015.
