In the TED spirit of ‘ideas worth spreading’ TEDxOxford is all about the power of imagination and innovation. TEDxOxford is organised by students, aiming to bring together the young minds of tomorrow’s world with the movers and shakers of today and is aimed at 16 to 25 year olds.
TEDxOxford 2011 was a truly fantastic day with speakers ranging from PR dynamo Kelly Cutrone (now to be seen on this season’s America’s Next Top Model), Creation Records founder Alan McGee to Oxford Professor of Mathematics Marcus du Sautoy and the leading regenerative medicine expert Aubrey de Grey.
This year TEDxOxford 2012 (in line with the much used but very apt cliché) is going to be bigger and better than ever! It is going to be held in November at the Oxford Playhouse and is going to be an unforgettable day.
Speakers from all walks of life will meet at the Oxford Playhouse to discuss their visions, experiences and dreams, fuelling discussion about the power of ideas. In the spirit of the TED ethos, ‘ideas worth spreading’, TEDxOxford will be an explosion of imagination and innovation, facilitating discussion amongst those who believe that ‘improbable’ is only a word. Confirmed speakers include Rory Sutherland, Cindy Gallop, Akanksha Hazari and Bjorn Lomborg, with many more to be announced.
