The Creative Industries Festival 2021: Shadow Chancellor Anneliese Dodds' Alternative Vision for the Creative Industries in the UK
Friday, 07 May 2021, 11:00 to 12:00
Who this event is for
Creative industries are a vital, successful part of the UK economy, contributing £13 million every hour. Over the last year, Anneliese Dodds, the first female shadow chancellor and Labour MP for Oxford East, has made multiple calls upon the government to address the gaps in the support schemes that have meant that only 50% of creative industries workers have been able to access income support during the pandemic, creating a risk of an exodus of skills in this vital, growing sector of the UK economy. In an interview with Dr Hannah Yelin (Senior Lecturer in Communication, Media and Culture) , Dodds will set out her alternative vision for the future and importance of the creative industries.
